The Design of our Daugherty Tartan

The Daugherty Tartan design takes inspiration from the vibrant colours and symbols of the Docherty/Doherty/O'Docherty Coat of Arms, representing peace, hope, and unwavering loyalty. All of our tartan is woven locally with 100% British wool, and can be ordered by the metre or half metre. We can also create a bespoke Daugherty tartan product for you. Choose from a wide range which includes kilts, shawls, ties, cosmetic bags and more. They will be handmade in our workshop in the South of Scotland.

The Story behind our Daugherty Tartan

The Daugherty Tartan, crafted in collaboration with the Daugherty family of Arkansas and descendants of the illustrious O'Docherty Clan, is a tribute to a lineage that has left a significant mark on both Irish and Scots history. With roots in the Gaelic name O’Dochartaigh, the Doherty name carries rich Irish and Scottish heritage. This tartan is proudly available to all bearing the Daugherty name or its many variations, celebrating a deep and storied ancestry.

The origins of the Doherty name are Irish and Scottish from the Gaelic O’Dochartaigh. This Daugherty tartan is available to anyone of that surname or variations thereof in celebration of a very rich Irish and Scots heritage.
