- St Louis Tartan
The St. Louis Tartan is a striking design inspired by the city’s rich history and its flag. The tartan takes its colours from the blue and white lines on the St. Louis flag, which represent the Missouri and Mississippi rivers, two waterways that are central to the city’s identity. These lines converge at the centre of the tartan, just as the rivers do, symbolizing the city’s position at their confluence.
At the heart of the design is the gold element, representing the fleur-de-lis from the flag, a nod to St. Louis’s French heritage and its namesake, King Louis IX of France. The gold also reflects the city’s historical importance as a gateway to the West and a symbol of prosperity.
The St. Louis Tartan is created for the citizens of St. Louis and those with ties to the city, serving as a proud emblem of its cultural heritage and geographical significance.
