About Angola Tartan
The Design of our Angola Tartan
Our Angola Tartan incorporates the colours of the flags of Angola and Scotland, and was create to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries. All of our tartan is woven locally with 100% British wool, and can be ordered by the metre or half metre. We can also create a bespoke Angola tartan product for you.
The Story behind our Angola Tartan
The Angola Tartan is part of our Tartans for Africa Collection, designed to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Scotland and Angola while supporting community enterprise and humanitarian projects. Created in 2007, this unique tartan was developed in collaboration with multicultural and refugee organisations in Edinburgh and Glasgow, reflecting the diverse cultural connections between Scotland and Africa. It was officially launched in 2008 at the Tartans for Africa Fashion Show at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, showcasing its rich symbolism and significance. Like many of our African tartans, the Angola Tartan serves as a meaningful tribute to heritage, unity, and cultural pride.
