About Brian Boru Tartan
Designed to commemorate the Battle of Clontarf, 1014 at which Brian Boru, an Irish king, was killed. Brian Boru c. 941 -23.04.1014 was an Irish King who ended the domination of the High Kingship of Ireland Ui Neill and is recognised by most as ending the Viking domination of Ireland. He eventually became High King of Ireland, was founder of the O’Brien Dynasty and considered to be one of the most unifying monarchs in medieval history. This commemorative tartan was commissioned and designed in 2013 and registered on the Scottish Register of Tartan in 2014. It is a favourite tartan for Irish folk the world o’er.
Brian Boru is a registered Tartan
