About Ethiopia Tartan
One of the 'Tartans for Africa' collection created to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Scotland and Ethiopia and generate income for humanitarian projects in Ethiopia and support asylum seeker and refugee projects here in Scotland. The design incorporates the colours in the flags of the two nations. This tartan was used in 2020 for the branding of the Scottish contribution to the Social Enterprise World Forum Event in Addis Ababa. The tartan was gifted by the then Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, Aileen Campbell MSP to government representatives in Ethiopia. The British Council also use the tartan to strengthen and celebrate cultural ties between Scotland and Ethiopia.
