About Sierra Leone Tartan
One of the 'Tartans for Africa’ collection created to strengthen the bonds of friendship between Scotland and Sierra Leone and to generate income for community enterprise and humanitarian projects. The design incorporates the colours in the flags of the two nations. This tartan was designed in 2007. This tartan was used between 2009-2011 for school uniform projects in Sierra Leone. The schools projects were part-funded by the European Union.
