About Ukraine Tartan
The Design of our Ukraine Tartan
The Ukranian tartan reflects the colours of the Ukrainian Flag and the Scottish Saltire. However, the yellow is more subtle. The Ukrainians who designed this tartan with David McGill, Tartan Designer, wanted it to reflect the land and agriculture. We love that their incredible legacy to the world is reflected in their national tartan. All of our tartan is woven locally with 100% British wool, and can be ordered by the metre or half metre. We can also create a bespoke Ukraine tartan product for you.
The Story behind our Ukraine Tartan
The 'Spirit of Ukraine' Tartan was commissioned in 2014 by ethnic Ukrainians in Canada who were exploring and pursuing opportunities to celebrate their heritage. It was registered in 2018, when it was used for the Global Wounded Warriors Project. The Wounded Warriors Project is a US-based global non-profit organisation that cares for US military service veterans and their families.
