Cyprus Tartan

The Cyprus Tartan was a very thoughtful design, reflecting the spirit and history of Cyprus and celebrating its cultural ties to Scotland. Created by David McGill to honour and welcome the people of Europe, this tartan incorporates the significant colours from the Cyprus flag to symbolize the island's values and heritage.

Green is included to represent the olive branches on the flag, which symbolize peace between Greek and Turkish Cypriots. Lastly, the design is accented with copper, reflecting the colour of Cyprus's silhouette on the flag, a nod to the island's rich history of copper deposits, which have been a significant part of its identity for centuries.
