Created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 8th February 1952. The selected colours are believed to be amongst Her Majesty’s favourites. The Tartan received royal approval in 2012. It is currently being re-registered as the Jubilee Commemorative Tartan.
