Liverpool Tartan

“Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool. Although I’m a Scot, I’d be proud to be called a Scouser.”

“I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, helping each other and everyone have a share of the rewards at the end of the day. It is humanity.”

These words of the legendary Liverpool Manager, Bill Shankly still resonate today. So, would he have approved of the creation of the creation of a tartan in his honour linking Scotland and Liverpool? We believe he would. As might the likes of Ian St John, Kenny Dalgleish, Alan Hansen, Graeme Souness and the host of other Scots who followed him South. If he knew that a share of the proceeds of the sale of this tartan would go to appropriate good causes in Liverpool and across the country, we are certain, he would have felt his legacy was appropriately honoured. This tartan was designed to coincide with the 50^th Anniversary of Bill Shankly’s arrived in his adopted City of Liverpool. The Liverpool Reds Tartan was launched in January 2013 when the Scottish supermodel, Eunice Olumide and her team took to the catwalk in a series of outfits designed in tartan. That occasion was the ‘Football Fashionistas’ Fashion Show at the second Tartan and Turbans Burns Supper in Glasgow in aid of ‘Show Racism the Red Card’
